Kim Reis, Romana Kryzanowska & Power Pilates Certified
B.F.A., University of Utah
Kim began her physical training at the age of six with her first gymnastics class and has been studying movement ever since. She earned her Pilates certification in NYC from Master Instructor Romana Kryzanowska, a direct protégé of Joseph Pilates. Also certified through Power Pilates, she studied extensively with Bob Liekens and regularly assists Jennifer Kries with teacher-training seminars. Kim is currently featured in Jennifer’s new DVD series entitled Hot Body/Cool Mind. One of the first to bring Pilates to the mainstream, students filled her classes at Equinox Health Club, New York University, and the Time/Life Company, among others. She has studied Anatomy, Kinesiology, and Biomechanics with Irene Dowd and Jean-Claude West. Her teaching is further informed by her professional career with The Mark Morris Dance Group, her study of yoga, her marathon training, and her newest adventure on the flying trapeze. Kim’s philosophy is to empower her students to create change, and to always believe in the possibility of a positive outcome.

The Pilates Method work-out, with body awareness, prevents injuries, improves strength, balance and promotes gracious movement. The body which practices Pilates is the same one used for all other daily activities (working on the computer, driving a car or having lunch). By understanding this concept, you become more autonomous and awaken yourself to your own potential.
The Body is moving and communicating. The Body is YourSelf.
